It is not a 1986 KDX200 or 1987 KDX200 carburetor. I know that for sure. They both have a flip lever that goes to the right side. This one has the standard knob. It is not 1988 and newer since Keihin has been used since 1988.

Do you have any calipers? Go to http://www.sudco.com to get the measurements for various carbs. I know the 1986 and 1987 had Mikuni VM34SS carbs. If the measurements match up, then it may be a VM34SS. If it is smaller, then it may be from a 1983/4/5 KDX200 or 175. If it is bigger, it could have been from a KDX250, 400, YZ, RM, CR, KX, Escort, Silverado, etc.

"I am wrecking a 1984 KAWASAKI KDX200 ."

I love when things translate differently! :supz: A usual Americanese translation would be "I am parting out a ..."

My Clymer manual for 1983 - 1988 KDX200 says VM32SS for 1983 - 1985 KDX200. It also shows right side idle for 1985, so that can't be it. The 1983 and 1984 are left side idle. I bet you can see all these on http://www.buykawasaki.com. I bet you never heard of that place before.

Plus rapide, s'il vous plait!

Years ago I worked at a "wrecker yard" same place a number of years later became a "salvage yard" currently a "Parts recycler".

KAY DEE EXER, the auction was from someone in Aus, so that is why. I have heard someone on another site say the same thing. They were from the Uk / Great Brittain / England.

kdxquebec: Here's some information from http://www.sudco.com on where the Keihin PWK carbs are measured. I couldn't find a diagram showing measurements on Mikuni carbs. If you can measure your carbs dimensions, I will do the same on one of my VM34SS carbs. That might at least give you some clue as to what you have purchased.

Here's what I got:

(airbox to carb side)
2.1" (53.34mm)
2.27" (57.66mm)

(carb to reed intake)

1.774" (45.06mm)
1.514" (38.46mm)

Maybe the throttle valve diameter is different? Clean it, see what the jets are, then put it on eBay with as much information as you can and get on with your life. :-)

Just from the pic, it looks exactly like my '84 carb, I have a couple of them. I'd put my money on it being an 84'. I also have and 87' carb and it's alittle different, but not by much.
