I'm RB'ed with stock carb. I need to order the screw and bolts though, as my purchase was pre screw. I also want me some of those fancy new RB stickers!

What about the RB head mod? I believe we may need another poll.

Well you have some numbers, but how about what those people have to say about the mod and what they have, a 200 or a 220? I would be interested in their comments. I have considered the carb mod, but the thought of the divider plate possibly coming loose and entering the engine at high speed makes me nervous.

If you wanted, you could also do a poll on the V force reed valve.

The way Ron has the divider plate installed it cant come loose. Even if it did the plate wouldnt pass through the cage/reeds because of the size and shape.

I picked up a 35mm carb for my 220 and got the A/S & Allen Bolt Screws (Thoses are great). I will be sending the carb in this winter for Ron to play with. A guy I ride w/had his done on his 200 and he loves it.

do the 200's and 220's have different carbs or what, are they interchangable! just wondering, is one better

The 220 has a 33mm carb, 200 a 35mm carb. The 35 on the 220 gives it a bit more "umphf"
The 33mm is supposed to give the 220 the low - mid power its known for + porting.

The 200 and 220 both have Keihan PWK's. The 220's carby is 2mm smaller (33mm vs 35mm) and while that helps the low end on the 220 it really chokes off the top end. They both use the same carb and intake boots.

If you are seriously concerned about it..don't be.

Well I'm not R&Bed mainly because I can't imagine getting any more from this engine than Iv'e allready got.(meaning a really noticible difference). (without going to larger bore,carb,exaust,ect.) If your atomazation/flow/mixture for a given engine is close to ideal can you really get more power/responce/speed without being able to move more fuel/air /exaust through your engine faster. (Not counting high compression race gas or nitro fuels).
So what I'm saying is past a certain ideal, if your not needing to go to larger and larger jets/carb/bore/exaust your not creating any more power/speed.

cmot - I've got a RB'd carb on my 89. Its a noticable difference expecially in the low end of things and something that I couldn't live without now that i've experienced it.

I have noticed a MORE USEABLE POWER SPREAD and more top speed

Take out the 'without' part, and you have the situation exactly described.

Do you honestly think the volumetric efficiency of your engine is 100%? Probably not. Not that THAT matters, 'cuz a 2-stroke that works does so at well over 100%.


There is no valid argument against the process...and that has nothing to do with anyone's particular choice in the matter.

Any argument against it to anyone who has it isn't likely to get you too far, though.

Not currently..a bit on the cold side. But I have used one. It was the correct choice at the time.
