Checked buykawasaki, ronayers, others - same microfiche. And the fiche don't show the swingarm caps (or plugs, or whatever you call them - if only they were on the darn fiche). Called the shop and, as suspected beforehand, got lots of "uhs" and "ums" and then "not on the computer so they're not a stock item" -

I lost one - any ideas where they can be had? I'm all ears for suitable alternatives as well.

I don't recall that you said anything about your bearings after you bashed out the pivot pin.

What shape WERE they in?

So did you piece it back together and grease er up real good Wibs???

no, but even after everyone at DRN telling me not too, I still ended up reusing my pivot bolt
I cleaned it up with emory where the bearing sleeves were stuck. I've yet too take it back upart so we'll have to wait and see who was right

One day I'd like to tear it all down and check it, maybe even paint my frame

actually, the bearings in the swing arm looked better than the ones in the linkage. I thiink that my biggest problem was the fusion of the axle to the bearing sleeve. the corrosion there was heavy. you could spin the axle and the sleeves would spin on the bearings, but you could not knock it out because the sleeves were blocked by the spacers, etc. is there an appropriate coating to place on the axle to prevent it from fusing to the sleeves? stainless?, teflon lining?

I'm sure something exotic would work..some kind of coating or treatment. I don't know what it would be.

I've had better luck using Anti-Seize grease than other types (synthetic or waterproof). Waterproof (BelRay) grease is better than one-each chassis grease, even the HydroSyn $10/tube (when bought in case lots) stuff I use.

A glance at the spacers used show the obvious problem..and it's the same problem as the seals used in the linkage. There IS a seal on the outside diameter, but NOTHING on the inner diameter (where the sleeves contact the pin/axle).

When you find 'the stuff' let us know!
