this a stock or aftermarket kickstart?

the guy is parting out a 200, i was looking at the kickstart and it looks smaller than mine.

Looks like a KX one, it is possilbly on a KDX knuckle but certainly not a stock KDX lever.

Pretty sure it is an FRP kickstarter. I have the same one, good stuff.

what is the advantage of the after market?

I still have the stock and can't complain so far...

Shorter kick so you don't have to heft your foot up as far. Shorter kick stroke as well. Beins the KDX doesn't need a lot of leverage cuz it can start by hand, this shorter starter is nice.

The advantage of an aftermarket kicker (hopefully) is that it will last for awhile.

The OEM kicker is a cast piece of junk. It's heavy, is hard on the spring/detent that keeps it in place.

Well, it is ugly, though. That's something.


In regard to the asking price..keep in mind that a kicker from FRP will NOT come with the knuckle. AND, putting a new kicker on a worn knuckle is a waste of time.

..and dollars.
