I have rode for two years on the Tusk plates, seem to work fine. The clutch lever free play seems to change a bit throughout the day though depending how much I am slipping it, I can't recall if the stock ones did that.

I bought the EBC springs too, but did not install them, I decided I did not want a stiffer clutch lever. Let me know how they work.

I have the springs.... they work. Don't feel much different than the stock weak springs to me....

Let us know on the quality of the Tusk plates.

The tusk plates I bought for my WR needed to have each of the tangs filed slightly to fit in the basket! I would hope that they are not all lke this though. It was also a hinson basket.

I pulled the basket out & noticed gouges from the gearing teeth all the way around. I took 150 grain Sand Paper & smoothed it out. I was thinking about calling Jeff Fredette, ask him what he will give for the Forks & TT & then pay the difference for a Hinson Clutch Basket, which he did have for the KDX.

Clutch Spring Pre-Load

Just for the heck of it, I used Spark Plug Washers under the Clutch Springs for Pre-Load. It was a Tip out of Dirt Bike Magazine. Some of you guys probably know about this technique, but its new to me. I finally got the plates & basket tightened down tonight & tomorrow I'll bolt everything else up, add fluids, start her up & try the new clutch up. :prayer: :prayer:

Tried the clutch. With the Washers acting as a Pre-Load, I find the clutch pull a bit stiff for my liking. Now I have to remove them & try it again. Otherwise seems to be fine.

Alright took the washers out, bolted back together, everything is good. But I believe the stock springs are just as stiff as the EBC or maybe a bit stiffer. Weird Huh. EBC, springs are wound 8 coils, stock are wound 6 coils.
