WOW - size 16 boots!! I bet they will be hard to come by - the obvious sorry!!
Have you looked into having a set of custom boots made for you? Likely would not be true dirt bike boots but there use to be a number of smaller companies that manufactured specialized boots for logging, electrical workers (pole line workers) etc. In the past I've seen some specialized lineman type boots that IMO would/could work for bike riding if you can give up the convience of the quick buckles. (With tailored boots you can chose the boot height, sole, reinforced areas etc. Don't know what the price would be but they would be relatively expensive but I'm thinking the cost would be comparible to Tech 8s-10s.) (Having suffered a sever ankle injury 12 years ago the value of good boots is justified in my mind if you ride alot)

A friend of mine bought Alpinestar Tech 6's in size 16 about 1.5 years ago. He had some kind of cheaper boot before that , they didn't hold up well at all. He likes the Alpinstars a lot better.

I like my tech 6's a lot. they've held up well for 2 seasons of moderate riding, the protection has been pretty good for the price, I've taken some big hits to them and not injured my feet or legs. The water tightness isn't a big deal to me cuz I ride in an arid climate. Personally, I get more injury "saves" from my boots than any other piece of gear (maybe all others combined), so I wouldn't go with any less protection. That's up to each rider though. My son keeps getting cheapie boots, and the Thors he got were horrible, started falling apart the third time he rode in them. He also got his leg broken badly in them, requiring surgery. If he had been wearing better boots, I don't know if the leg could have gone without breaking, but I do wonder if it would have been a simpler break, maybe only one bone, and maybe not requiring surgery.

I got Tech 4's and love them. Well constructed like all AP's stuff. Cheaper...yes. But I ride woods and love the ATV sole.

DAMN size 16 at the age of 14, WOW. I am 6'5" and have a size 14 boot but I'm nearly 30. Let me know if I can help at all as I'm in Sydney.

I bet you love the distance between the pegs and shifter/brake on the kdx, Although I havn't rode a lot of bikes all my Suzukis were too close together and caused misshifts and braking problems. I also had wider pads built on the rear sides to center my feet further back. I'm watching this thread as it pertains to my questions on boots. Good luck....

And we all see where the boobs are on this topic.
