Hey guys I just picked up a 2000 kdx 200h it’s an absolute dream I get why everyone loves them but I would like to put some supermotard wheels on it but I cannot for the life of me find what will work. I want to have 2 sets of wheels one for road one for enduro but the oem hubs are nla and expensive so I thought someone here can help because nowhere does it say what will work and what won’t. I found an American website that has them but they don’t ship to Australia I just want a pair of 17 in wheels for it and I’d rather not spend 5000 on it as well. I’m thinking I buy an old set of kdx wheels and strip them down and get the hubs re spoked and rimmed which may be the cheapest option but does anyone else have anything else that will work. I work at a Kawasaki dealer so I can get pretty much everything, like even if wr or another brands wheels will work just anything please.
Someone please help 😭😭

There might be some older KX's that might have wheels that work. I'm unsure. I'd lace the hubs onto new wheels if it was me.

I do have a a question though, since you're turning it into a supermotard, are you upgrading the forks? I couldn't imagine the stock suspension would be very good for riding like that.

My 04 CRF450R has a set of Warp 9 supermoto wheels on it and the suspension for it is great, but it's the complete opposite of the suspension on my KDX. It's very stiff.

Pretty much your only option is to lace new rims to a set of kdx or kx hubs, there are a few folks on here who have done it. IIRC about the biggest you can go on the rear is a 4" rim before you get into serious chain rub and alignment issues, you'd probably still have to dish them with some offset to help as well in the rear. Search the forums and you should be able to find what you need.

You might get lucky with the 17" wheel assemblies from the Supermoto KLX300SM, check over the parts breakdowns. If you have one of them at work possibly check the width of the hubs(possiblity if Offset also) and collars(spacers) on the forks and inside width of the swingarm. The rears use the same bearings(6004) so axle diameter would be the same but unsure about length, the front you might be able to use the KLX wheel, bearing od is 32mm on the KDX and 35mm on the KLX but they do make a 35mm od bearing with a 12mm bore to use the KDX axle if this will work. Some custom shims might have to be made for centering and for retaining clips, possibly custom for the collars also or a mix, for example on the front the KDX uses a 12mm wide collar the KLX 14mm wide opposite the odo drive but again they are both different id, the rear the KLX uses a 20mm wide and a 22mm wide collar the KDX they are both 22mm wide.

My friend had a KLX300SM stripped down for only track use and I had looked into it for my KDX late last year just for fun but before I could test fit off his bike he sold it in the spring, I have a 04 KLX300 front end on my bike so it might have just been bolt on?
