Hello,

Just wondering what everyone is running for aftermarket clutch levers and if you have any feedback? I am tempted by the Works Connection but not sure I can justify the $170 price tag to it, despite it's reputation. At that point do I spend the extra and go Hydro. My second choice and far cheaper is to get the Tusk folding lever set from RMATMC for $50. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I used Motion Pro levers & perches for Honda 125 motocrossers for 4 years. They are cheap and short, which I like.

I just installed these levers using the Kawasaki OEM perches. My nephew has used them on his DRZ for 8 years. They pivot outward in spills to prevent breakage, are inexpensive, and are GREEN. I like this.

Do you have a photo of the works connection lever, I have a 1 finger clutch I have designed but it's still in the prototype stage, it's like nothing else available but I don't think it will be ready for another year, the US is the main market so I'm always interested in what people have available and are willing to spend

kdxdazz, based on your question, I looked up the Works Connection website. On this website, I saw 2 different lever systems. Interesting and pricey. Associated with the PC 8 perch & lever system is a thumb activated hot start. I have no idea what this is for.

Your lever sounds interesting. I'd think it be really good for MX, Supercross, and hard enduro. Maybe traditional enduro and observed trials. If competitors find it useful, then the demand could be high.

Thanks again, Billie! For the price, these look solid. As noted, I just don't have the extra money lying around for levers, but am wanting something smaller and have a better feel. The OEM ones are what they are. These could be the ticket. I'll check back in after I make the call.

I picked up a used Flo Tri-Pivot clutch lever that someone was running on a Suzuki RM or a Yamaha YZ, and black, and then I picked up a used later model KX Flo Tri-Pivot brake lever in black and did a pretty basic modification to convert it to the earlier style that fits the KDX.
The Flo Tri-Pivot levers fold forward in a crash as well as swiveling up and down in a crash, even more protection against breaking. I don't think you would ever break one... Every once in awhile in a hectic hairy situation, when I make an awkward difficult panic grab to the clutch or break, the lever does occasionally pivot downward, but despite my fears, this is never prevented me from grabbing a handful of clutch or brake.
The adjustable reach on the clutch lever with a quick turn thumb screw dial has been a very excellent tool for helping me get a little bit better at clutch control in hard enduro/technical terrain type situations, with dialing in the clutch so that I have to have it pulled almost all the way back to the lever to be completely disengaged, which makes it a lot closer reach for average hand size so that it's not a mile away when you're trying to hang on to the handlebars for dear life...
That was an incredible tool to just be able to dial it back on the fly without getting out tools to move the set screw and lock nut on typical stock levers.

I also previously got some AS3 Performance levers (to get them in green I had to make a special request to get a green brake lever to add to my Honda CR125 kit, and have them give me a green clutch lever/perch with the black Honda CR125 kit. The CR125 uses the exact same levers as does the CR250 and early CRF, but as3 performance didn't acknowledge that and only had them in Black and other Honda colors, the cable clutch levers are all universal to them with their own perch, the brakes must be matched with the correct master cylinder mounting configuration of course, so the base of the lever itself where the fold away mechanism is would be the same as the CR but the brake lever is identical but from a Kawasaki model that normally comes attached to a base that doesn't fit the KDX and CR brake master.
