I have plans to switch back to the stock reed cage as the Lectron will not work with the thicker v force reed block. I had an issue in the past with the carb holder not sealing fully to the reed block. I see that the built in o rings on the carb holder are what create the seal. I am wondering what the best solution is to be absolutely sure the reed block seals the first time around. Thanks

I always use the factory gasket.

Put a very thin coat of grease on the seal lip it will allow the boot to kinda slide around a bit and help everything line up.

Put a very thin coat of grease on the seal lip it will allow the boot to kinda slide around a bit and help everything line up.

I went through this before too, if the o rings are damaged or flattened there is no way of sealing it, you can't just cut a gasket as the seal also holds the white plastic insert into the reed block, I tried many different combinations but in the end I bought a new carb boot, if you are able do a leak down test and spray around the carb boot to check for no leaks, I also have a lectron

Tolerant to oil not gasoline, threebond 1104 and 1211 is tolerant to gasoline

So do you think it will be safe to use one of those on the carb holder to reeds surfaces? I was thinking i should only use it on the out side o ring that is built in to the carb holder.

Yes, either one of those will work, 1104 fills gaps better 1211 is easier to remove, just remember to wipe everything down with thinners 10 times so it can bond

Ok having a hard time finding 1104 in the US. Not sure what a good alternative would be here. Maybe Permatex moto seal or Hondabond 4.
