Looking for a leaner needle than stock but only leaner below 1/2 throttle

I feel my 220 is running slightly rich below 1/2 throttle but it seems to be running great from 1/2 to full throttle. I am having trouble wrapping my head around these needle charts. I’m going to try dropping it down to the 2nd clip position instead of the stock 3rd position first. Meanwhile can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

Go to www.frpoffroad.com and call Jeff. He’ll help you get sorted.

Move the needle down one and see how it rides. You could go one step thicker to lean out the 1/8 - 1/4 throttle area. I did that on my 1994, as recommended by Jeff Fredette. It helped clear it up.

Do you mean running rich from idle to 1/2 throttle, that's a big rev range with lots of possibilities, everything including the main jet, could be a worn stock needle, slide, pilot, emulsion tube
