Clutch

Hello all. I'm brand new here, and brand new to my kdx and 2 strokes in general (had it about 2 weeks now)
I've had it out about half a dozen times around the house and some slow woods trails, but yesterday was my first good ride.
The issue I found was that if I had the bike revved up going along dirt roads at speed my clutch went stiff, almost solid, full hand to get it in and the bike would still try and go, but as long as I kept my revs below about half throttle everything worked great...
I don't really know what to think, I just ride them, I'm no mechanic hahaha.

You are about to be. :-)

Welcome aboard.

Get a service manual and read up.

Read up on old threads in here from others. You'll see pictures of bad baskets that are notched out. Buy yourself a new outer clutch cover gasket before taking the cover off.

Yup, LOL!

First, get a manual like KDXGarage said. It will prove to be the most valuable tool in your arsenal. Now, I would bet on a severely notched clutch basket. Probably bad enough to need replacement. Get in there, take pics, and post them up and we'll try to help you sort through it.

Hmm, I'm not going to lie, I was hoping for something silly like change the oil weight haha.
Should I just order everything now and assume it's bad?
I won't be home to actually look at it until next week.

Heck no. Wait and see. A basket ain't cheap.

Exactly, oil and a new gasket are cheap. If you drain it and carefully remove the outer clutch cover you *may* be able to reuse the gasket if it doesn't tear or fall apart. Get a torque wrench, those bolts don't get tightened as much as you might think, and over tightening them could be costly. A notched basket (check google or search on here) can be cleaned up, new baskets are not cheap.
