Hi all . I have recently got hold of a 1990 kdx 200 SR which looks pretty good and apparently been gone over and sorted but I have a few questions .

It starts and runs well but seems to rattle alot on tick over . I have all the receipts for the kips valve so can only assume it's piston noise .

Are the top end rebuild kits the same for these as non SR models?

Also the Kickstarter slips every now and again and I have looked into this on internet where it could be the gear having worn teeth .

Can you get these and the spring or is there a repair .

At 32 years old, the teeth may be worn. There is a guy on here from Canada that got his gear teeth improved to make it work better. It's in a thread a couple of months ago. His user name is Slick Rick.
