98 220 possible broken ring, or seals

Bought in January from dealer. Ran great but didn't get to ride it due to weather. First ride sloppy response at 1/8 throttle, gas out of overflow. Opened carb, cleaned, new jets and new float valve. Old one was frozen. Overflow solved. Still baulking at 1/8 throttle. Changed jet block gasket. Started it, seemed good for 5 seconds then smoke, no idle, no power. Somewhat catastrophic. Haven't done leak down or pulled cylinder yet. Thoughts?

The forum is fairly active. How fast of a reply were you expecting??

Does it kick over?

It will run but barely. I'm just gonna pull the head and cylinder and have a look see. Figure if I find problem then don't have to split case.

Thx but now realizing don't know how long the bike has been sitting or how well cared for. Top end off this weekend. Bet it still has original piston
I'll keep this updated
