2003 KDX200 Jetting Help

Hey there, I need some help with my jetting(possibly). Let me explain the problem first, when I try to open the throttle from idle to full or just half too fast the bike bogs badly, when I don't close the throttle fast enough it dies, but it takes effort to not close it fast enough (like 5 seconds of the thing dying) I use castrol power 1 2T at a ratio of 40:1. Air mixture screw at ~1/5 from completely closed(guessing bigger pilot jet) And the altitude is ~4000ft normal temp is about 30C or ~90F. Some help would be great!

If everything is mechanically sound, try the next size larger pilot jet.

and welcome to kdxrider.net!

I'd go 1 size bigger on pilot jet also to see what happens. What size is in the now? Keep a clean air filter.

You want your Air Screw to be in the 1 to 2 turns out range ideally. Have a look at the jetting guide (link in my signature)

When you put the next larger size pilot jet in, turn the air screw to the stock position, I think it is 1.5 turns out, then adjust from there.

Oryxr5, Your original post says: (Air mixture screw at ~1/5 from completely closed(guessing bigger pilot jet)

Does that mean 1.5 turns out?

I haven't checked the current jetting, will do that this weekend. And the 1/5 turns from fully screwed in is from about 2 'O clock (fully in) to about 12(the current setting) And it seems like the pilot needs to be about 1 or 2 sizes up
