Wiseco Piston Sizing

Getting ready to send my '97 220 cylinder out for repair/re-plate, a first for me. All of my stuff so far could be bored oversize so typically I would obtain the piston(s) prior to service and have the machine shop size the bores to the piston(s). I see Wiseco offers a standard bore and 0.5mm over. Do I need to send the new piston with the cylinder? Can the control the plating thickness to get the size right? Do I send the cylinder by itself and buy a standard Wiseco kit?

Thanks

If it's a stock bore, then they plate to the stock diamensions.

You do not have to send a piston.

Have you considered buying a piston from the plater, if they sell them?

Its always a good idea, and my SOP, to supply the new piston to anyone doing bore work on a cylinder. To go along with what KDXgarage said, consider having your plater furnish the piston too. Either way, there will be no doubt about what your clearance is.

I always check the clearance when the work comes back, but then, I have the measuring tools to do so.
