Plated KDX (pros & cons)

I lucked out (I thought) on plated KDX, with intention of some DNR logging roads and family-friendly single track fun. Evidently, I should have asked the bike what it had in mind.
Like a pony that hates the saddle, it tries to rip the plate off every time I ride it. I think it feels embarrassed at the MX track.
Between wheelie loop outs and rear fender pivot turns (neither could possibly be my fault) I think I may need to have let the bike have its way, and relegate the rear light kit and plate to temp add on if it ever sees any light duty.

And yes sometimes I feel like loopy is my middle name.
I always ask myself ... what if god saw me taking the chicken trail on other side of the stump?
