Difference between kdx220A and kdx220R

New here, first post. If anyone knows the difference between the A and R models I’d be much appreciative. Thanks

In the USA, Kawasaki sold the KDX220R from 1997 - 2005. The first series of a certain model is known as the "A" series. For example, 1994 - 2005 (worldwide sales) models are the "A" series for the KDX220R. Technically, there is no "KDX220".
For the "KDX200", the "A" series was the style from 1983 - 1985.
The 1995 - 2006 KDX200 and 1994 - 2005 KDX220R are almost identical, except for the cylinder, head, power valve, carburetor and stock chain style (ring chain on KDX220R). Those are the differences I can remember, besides stickers.

does not go in as far...would smack piston

the sub valves are the same, just not the main valve, as KDX said, it's sized for the larger piston. The KDX220R is an A model KDX220. The R is a marketing thing.
