I plan on replacing bearings and races on my 87 KDX 200 and my 97 KX 250. What special tools do I need?

No special tools are required. Use a long drift to drive out the races from the stem. Use a cold chisel to carefully work the bearing off the triple clamp stem. Use a piece of pipe to drive the new stem bearing on it's inner race. Cut a slot through the old race and use it to drive the new one lower than flush if needed.

add a dab of anti-seize to the frame / new races before installation

clean inside the head tube, then out a small dab of grease to coat the inside of the head tube for rust prevention
