1993 crank puller adapter

I bought a case splitter /puller off eBay.
I was about to use it to pull the crank into the bearings which are already installed in the case. The puller did not come with any adapters and there’s no way to connect
Very very much a rookie here learning as I go.
Thanks !!
Greg

You need a different tool called a crank puller.

Welcome to kdxrider.net. Thanks for joining and participating.
Can you post a link to the listing / tool?
As kdxsully said, it may be a splitter and not a puller.

I didn't know they made these tools. I always used a hydraulic press.

yep , a local that is helping me put this thing back together recommended I buy it, but it didn't come with adapters that would fit the crank arms, then it didn't come with the adapter to connect it to the puller itself

Where are you located? Somewhere between Diprivan, Oregon and Sugamadex, Maine?
Donate a couple bucks to the website and you can receive PMs.

TUSK (Rocky Mountain ATV / MC) sells a kit. I think it may have been on here that I read someone talking about adapters.
I have a Yamaha OEM puller, and it has a variety of adapters for various bikes. I think I remember someone saying a KX / KDX was not the most common style end.

The round tube looking thing is the crank puller. Take the big nut off the outside and an inner rod will come out. You use the bolts to thread the inner rod onto the end of the crank then reinsert the rod into the tool, install the nut and tighten to pull the crank on. Watch this to help:

The three armed piece with the long bolts is a case splitter.

Funny. After using the cold crank/bearing into hot case halves trick, I just used some large nuts that fit over the crankshaft to use as spacers and tightened the flywheel nut or primary gear nut to pull the crank in to the position I wanted.

I guess this is were my issue is. It didn't come with bolts or nuts to connect the cranck threads to the tool. Headed back out now to try again

so there is no way to connect the crank to the long bolts that goes through the puller tool. The long bolt has a large female side that is large and does not thread on anything that connects to the crank, ether side

Sorry but not that I've ever seen.

I guess I wasn't very clear. The crank puller doesn't use the long bolts, those are only for the case splitter. Do a quick search for Tusk Crank Puller Instructions on the web, it shows what you need to do. The heat/freeze method also works.

Lol, that's the same video I posted the link two in my earlier response, it shows exactly how to use the puller. Being an Ebay purchase the problem may be finding the right adapter bolt, but you can always use the OEM ones.
