Snap ring

Putting gears on to counter shaft and the new Kawasaki snap rings are flat one side slightly raised other side is there a specific way round for snap rings cheers

I always put the flat side to the outside.

I'm with SS. The flat side always facing the same direction that you would slide the gear if you were removing it.

Me being a bit slow here so flat side is towards engine shaped side to front sprocket on all cheers.Wonder if anybody else was aware of this I only realised when Kawasaki dealer informed me

No, flat side facing outward. That way it is a hard square edge against the groove holding on your sprocket.

Got it I think all 4 snap rings on the output shaft have flat side to sprocket

Yes rebuilding engine there are 3 inside engine on sprocket shaft
