Engine Dying Going Downhill

2005 KDX 200.

Engine idles fine when on the level. But when descending a (steep) hill with the clutch pulled in, the engine quits. To keep the engine alive I have to keep blipping the throttle.

I've installed a new float (measures ~ 17 mm), and new valve in the float chamber, checked and re-checked the jets, ran different sized low speed jets, new reeds (stock) .... but no change. Problem persists.

Ideas?

Let the clutch out. Engine braking will help with the descent. But to answer the question, mine will sometimes do the same thing. Is your idle high enough?

Idle is high enough, I'm sure. Sometimes in very tight, technical turns I have to pull the clutch in.

Nature of the beast. Pull in the clutch & blip the throttle here & there.

I have the problem with my KTM 300. I do not have the problem with my KDX 200. I think it may have to do with float level. I adjusted my float level on my KDX several times before I got it to run well. Now I'm starting the same adjustment routine on my KTM.
Have you noticed fuel spilling while going up or down hills?
I set my KDX float at 16MM.

So my son and I went riding this morning - 35 miles in the desert. I had reset the float bowel level on the KTM and I had zero stalls today. Also no more fuel spilling on steep hills.
Problem solved for me.
