What terrain do you ride in?
Do you race?
Goals for the bike?

Not a simple answer. They are similar but different. Like KDX Garage said, depends on your intended use, terrain, and, if you race, what class. (The 220 is at a distinct disadvantage racing fast HS courses in the 250 class for example.). "They" say the 220 drops off at high rpm and won't rev out enough, or at least not as high as the 200. Since I switched from the stock exhaust to an FMF, I just haven't noticed that as a problem. I do notice the increased low end in the 220 though and for my type of riding, tight, eastern single track, I prefer the 220. The 200 though does seem to have a lot more low end than the 200 KTM I rode.
Which is better? You have to define what you're looking for to define "better".

Agree with the previous responses. I am going to give you the indecisive answer, which probably isn't that helpful, but both bikes do everything well in my opinion. The small differences in the motor can easily be evened by rider input and ability. Sure the 220 does has more low end, but the 200 isn't too far behind and with a little more clutch/throttle work you can achieve similar results. Right now I am out in CA and ride a mixture of mountain rocky-single track in the Sierras and then some two-track open hilly country at Carnegie OHV. I have been mainly riding my 200 and haven't had any complaints about the capabilities of the 200s output. It lugs really well, climbs well, has enough mid-top when I need it. Although the 220 does have more bottom, it is not something that I ever miss with the 200.

It's a little like comparing big curvy women to skinny women....sure they both can do the same thing .....but it's not always about the performance ... Or what they do but more how they do it !
Personally I'm more into the tight curves.... Well I do ride a 220 !

I haven’t ridden a 200 so I’m going to be biased. My 220 with a PC pipe and the RB head and carb mod absolutely flys! My riding buddies all ride 250 4t and I leave them in the sweet smell of burnt 2t oil. The thing can chug around at a snails pace and when the trail opens up....
