Anyone got goldens on a Kdx? Been wanting to try these for some time now. What model/ size you using? My terrain in rooty and rocky wet woods. Thanks

I run the Goldentyre 90/100-21 Fatty up front on my KDX and GasGas and I love it. It is the only front tire I run now. It is absolutely the best I've found in the rocks. I run it at 11-12psi with Tubliss.

You could also look at the shinko 216mx. It seems to be the same tire (mold pattern, construction) as the Golden, but for way less $. I run mine at 11psi with tubliss and love it for conditions like yours. Slip your forks up 0.4 in. to maintain stock steering geometry.

I run the Shinko 216mx 90/100-21fatty and love it I run 8-9psi with Tubliss just cheaper then the Golden and the Shinko 525 110 in the back

I had high hopes for the Shinko as a budget version of the Golden Fatty but it really isn't. The Goldentyre Fatty and Shinko Fatty are not the same. Have run both and the Shinko likes different pressures, is of a different compound, and behaves differently out on the trail. I've also noticed that knobs on the Shinko started to crack during the first ride whereas the Goldentyre took almost a year of riding in the same terrain before signs of cracking started to appear.

Yeah, the rumor was that they were made in the same factory originally and then Goldentyre moved to a new facility but Shinko kept the molds (but didn't have the compound recipe evidently) The Goldens are more pliable and wear better from what I hear. I have one waiting to go on at my next tire change.
