Hi guys/ chicks

Been lurking this forum for a few weeks now brought a kdx200h which had broken a piston skirt. I am now rebuilding it, just about to put the cover back on with the water pump.
My question is is the water pump meant to have a little resistance when turning by hand for should it spin free?

Very slight, I would think, but it should be smooth.

It has a very noticeable amount of resistance. However, like david mentioned, it should be very smooth.
