Tips for buying a used KDX

Hi guys, i am looking to buy a KDX200 in the near future and was hoping some of you veterans could help me with some rips on what to look for when viewing a bike? Like any warning signs i should look for or specific issues that are bad signs on a 2 stroke motorcycle in general. Please note i have owned a few 4 strokes in the past but never a 2 stroke so i am clueless, so to speak. I appreciate any input, thanks

Check for properly functioning power valve system is one thing on a two stroke.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great information and helpful people here. I agree with Jason on the power valve, but besides that just the normal checks. Unless you are buying from someone you know or they have documentation you might as well throw a wiseco piston/top end kit in just to be safe. Probably not the most helpful answer, but like anything, the bike will speak for itself unless you are looking for a restoration project and even then you'll know what you are getting into. Good luck!
