Does anyone know of any universal or other KX model rear fenders that will fit my bike? I'm looking for an mx style rear fender so I can fit my light under it. Converting the bike to a duel sport so I can rip around town and get to trails. The only one I found is the maier and its nearly 90 dollars... I bought a full ufo kit for my rm125 for a little more than that.

The OEM fender is already pretty well suited for dual sporting, with the light being already there. It would be easy enough to add brake light function there. It seems like you'd actually make it more difficult trying to use an MX fender as a dual sport fender? The Maier one is the only direct fit MX rear fender that I know of. You could try a universal rear MX fender., but they generally don't fit worth a crap.

I probably would have used the OEM fender but it's kind of beat up and the Light doesn't sit well in it anymore.. has a few mm movement and I bought a led tail light kit anyway and was going to fit it with an mx style fender so it would be more parallel with the ground.

Maeir is the only one that fits well. Try to make a universal work if the price is too much for you. UFO may make a rear fender with light. MX kits spoil us on cheap plastic. Maier keeps jacking the price up, but the fender is for a 1995 - 2006.

Are the Maier and the UFO plastic the same color? That looks sweet.

Both should be "KX Green" as the "Flour Green" of the newer models came out after the KDX's ceased production. You do have to be careful on ordering sometimes.

Do check it. 2005 and 2006 KDX's have a lighter shade of green. Ask whoever you are buying plastic from.

I asked an online shop I frequent to check if the 2 different fenders and shrouds matched. We’ll see what they say.

It took some asking and they said they were the same. Placed the order and sure enough the Maier is a bit darker than the UFO. The package said 95-04 KDX 200 so KDXGarage you are most likely correct. Not sure if you could tell when it’s on the bike but you can tell with it sitting side by side.
I can’t find a different part number for an 05-06 fender. I will try to call Maier tomorrow.

Someone was saying that UFO KDX plastic is now 2005 / 2006 shade. I have not bought any myself.

I called UFO USA a few minutes ago. They don't open until 10 AM CST.

OMG!! They only offer one shade now, which is 2005+. The guy was very nice and informative, but DAMN. That is not what I wanted to hear from the USA distributor.

Maier said their plastic is only in the slightly darker color, nothing that would match the 05+ UFO color. I got a little thinking to do now.
It’s pretty noticeable when the parts sit next to each other but I’m wondering about on the bike if it would stand out as much.
Don’t think I wanna drop $75 for a matching Maier front fender but I may have to.
How hard it is to modify one of the other UFO rears to fit?

I don't know if it is old lime green or 2005+ lime green.

That looks like the color of the rear so that’s a good option. Thank you, I didn’t know anyone else made KDX specific plastic. For $20 and some shipping that’s an easy choice. I have new UFO radiator shrouds which are the brighter green but will be covered up with graphics probably and OEM white number plates on the side.

I think the problem is when pieces are side by side, like a front numberplate and headlight shroud or side panels that are green like a rear fender. White side panels would break up the flow.

Just fly by people, and they won't be able to tell any shade differences. :-)

The guys I ride/camp with are my worry. They’re all behind me in the dust when riding but we’re relentless in camp. Weekends of torture and jokes at work would be the punishment if it looked even remotely bad.
