Open the bleeder and try to push the pads back in?

Yes, with the bleeder open. Thanks.

If you can't squeeze the piston back with the bleeder open or line loose, the piston/bore is all corroded and you will probably need to find a used caliper.

I had a similar sticking piston problem with my rear brake. Had a devil of a time getting the piston out of the caliper. Finally used compressed air applied to the banjo bolt opening.

Usually, instructions caution that using this method, the piston will come flying out, but not for me. Had to hold the air pressure in the caliper, and eventually the piston slowly creeped out.

What I found was a build-up of black gunky stuff between the piston and the caliper bore. Actually, the seals were still good, and there was no corrosion on the piston or in the caliper bore.

I polished up the piston and put new seals in anyway, and also caliper pins that came in the kit. All is good now, the brakes work and the piston retracts like it should.

Maybe yours has a similar problem?

Good luck.
