This is about the 4-5th instance of receiving a PM notification:
[*] Normal [ ] admin@kdxrider.net 01:59 PM 2/26/2006 4 New Private Message has arrived

..but when I go the the PM console, there isn't anything new there.

I suppose a PM could be 'recalled' by the sender before I see it and the result would be similar.

I ask because it has happened repeatedly, so the occasional 'I changed my mind..' doesn't seem to fit.

Any ideas?

That's the exact cause CC.... If someone changes their minds and deletes it before it is delivered... you will still get the notification.
