I think it would be a bit to tall to really fit well in the KDX chassis.

They are not even close. I've got both. The KX frame is much more stout and has a removable subframe.

RE: 'if a KX 250 motor will mount right in ..'

1. Of course not.

RE: 'if it is possible'

2. Of course it is.

RE: 'how ???'

C. If you have to ask THAT question, forget #2, stick with #1.

The KDX does not have a KX frame..not the 'same'..but styled similarly.

Kind'a like the KDX(200) is 'similar' to the KX(250)...just 50cc smaller!

First off, i rember the Kawi website saying the KDX had the the "award winning" chassis of the KX...and SkiPro, is your KDX and the KX the Same Year?

Huh, dang, I missed the Chasis Awards again, I really need TiVo. I once saw a KX500 engine in a KX80 or 85 frame. So, there you go. Should be a piece of toast.

Ok, that was a little sarcastic. Seriously, with the prices of used two stroke race bikes so low, (at least down here in the good ole US of A-holes) I would just get the bike that came with the motor I wanted. I used to think the KDX was somehow more "trail-worthy" than a MX bike. After riding my kid's YZ in the woods, I'm backing off that notion. My opinion might be different if I was back east or something, but there is a lot of merit in a bike that was designed from the ground up with modern technology, and works as a balanced unit.
