New rear pads and rotor

Whats the best way to bed them in ?? Hard braking on-off without over heating them ??

I just went riding with them. Sucked at the beginning of the day and worked great by the end :rolleyes:

I've never worried a whole lot about it. Yep..just went riding.

But...I'm sure the same 'burnish' break-in method works for any braking system. Simply, increasing braking (pressure/time) in fairly small increments with cooling inbetween.

There are vehicles I have done that with..and some I have not. The brakes that were burnished/broken-in correctly are waaaay superior over those that were not. It's a bit time-consuming, but worth it.

CC is correct IMO, but I never worry about it on dirt bikes.

Contamination from dirt, mud, water etc is going to affect the pads quickly anyway. Just be sure to clean your new rotor very well prior to installing/or using it. Seems like the rotors usually have some preservative or residue from their manufacturing surfacing machining.
