SO i bought my kdx from a friend and he said it was a 94 and I took his word for it since he had 3 other machines and ride a lot but i ran the vin and it is a 90 kdx. Little older than what i thought but same bike from 89-94. Was the only difference in these two bikes the front end? I believe 93 and 94 they went to 43 mm forks. Dont really matter though i guess since i have a 01 kx 250 front end for it. Just thought i would share this so in the future i will always run the vin no matter who i buy it from.

There are a couple of little differences over those years, water pump seal design and maybe a couple of other things that are small.
1993 - 1994 has UpSide Down, USD, forks. They have 41 mm inner tubes.

OK thanks Jason I appreciate it very much. I have the 01 kx 250 front end and im getting ready to send it off to RB for the mod so i can just bolt it on. That should make a huge difference. So when i order bearing to send to rb since im using my steering stem do i buy the 90 kdx bearings or the 01 kx 250 bearings i am a little confused on that part.

The 1992+ KX125 / KX250 / KX250F / KX450F top bearing is too big to fit inside the head tube of the KDX / KLX / KX500 / (1991 and older KX125 / KX250)
You need KDX sized bearings to go in the KDX head tube.
