Kick start Spur Gear interchangability with newer model?

Aloha,

I have both an 86 and 88 KDX200. The 88 kickstart gear started slipping, so I put in the 86's (as the 88 is the nicer bike). I'd like to get the 86 running again but as you know the spur gears are NLA....sad.

Will any of the watercooled kickstart spur gears work? (I checked the 91 fische for kicks (pun) and those gears are still available..though spendy). If I have to, I'm ok with buying the complete assy from a 91....springs, spacers gears etc if it's the only way to get it to work properly.

Any other options I'm missing?

Looks like it fits from '86-'06. Good to go!
