I need a new chain and sprockets for sure. i know the front is 13 tooth and rear is 47 and the chain is 520 110. but i was having trouble finding out if going with less or more teeth, how much top speed you gain. I would imagine that less teeth would be a smaller sprocket and thus higher top speed, but how much more. and how much low end do you loose. Id like to gain some in 6th gear, but im pretty happy with the low end too so i was looking for a comparison on how much top speed a each tooth would gain. Im guessing not much and ill probably go with a OEM spec set.

i think i found my answer, Ill stick with a 13t on the front. Seems some say a 14t might be possible but i hear the guys saying its too big to fit the gaurd, it may be at looking at mine. I might go with a tooth or two less if i can find it but it this point i may just stick to stock. Guys are saying 70mph but i would think they are really reving the bike up for that. Cars pass me on 55mph on the KDX running it where it sounds good to me that isn't wide open!

13/47 i hit the pipe at 50mph or so
14/47 about 55 or so
15/47 about 65 or so, but it won't pull it on hills unless i stay up sound 60ish in sixth

i LOVE 15/47 for woods riding, it really smooths out the power, really makes carrying momentum a priority, Ave makes cruising on the road to the next trail a breeze. think "super light dual sport" and your about right

13/47 is for races/hard Enduro, it will totally obliterate hills and very nice for log crossing/stream crossing tight wood

14/47 isn't much of a jump at all for words, it just means a little more clutch with

Will the chain gaurd clear on the 15tooth. I'm not a hard core woods enduro racer. Just s take it back to the pond fishing ect. Little bit of off road fun but hwy to get there.

yes, the 15t will hit the guard. i used an angle grinder to clearance mine so the 15 would fit. if you're a recreational (best kind) of rider like you described, the 13 or 14 will be fine for you, the 14 will last longer and mellow out the bike on the bottom end a little, but still plenty of fun when you use the hit. :)
