if anyone hasn't noticed, ive bought a beat up 1987 kdx. The forks are obviously leaking so i bought seals and dust covers. Ive never done forks but on my gs750 i have seals to do on that too and have them to do as well.

So i see after searching there is a fork kit with spacers and clip to hold it and some other stuff for like 60$ don't include seals far as i can tell or there is just the seals for 25$ which is what i bought. What do i look for in the forks to know if anything needs replaced. I ordered a claymer book so ill have a diagram when i do it. Just trying to get all the parts rounded up. Wasn't sure if anything else would need to be replaced and what to look for.

BTW you guys been a great help. Found out Kawasaki discontinued the carburator rubber intake boot holder. Mine is beyond useable unless i bubba it up with epoxy ect. I found this company called Hot Foot Moto who makes one for 100$. Think im buying it unless i here from you all its junk part tho i really have no choice other then finding a parts bike which will have the same age intake most likely

I ended up getting the forks serviced. Never done it before. All my manual said to check was scratches or cracks and it all looked fine. So I put new seals in and called it a day.

The fork inner and outer bushings should have been inspected, as they may be 29 years old.

Those ebay carb boots may be the way to go.
