I bought this bike for 600 and put a new top end on it including replating the cylinder. Now I'm up to 1500. Now my crank seals are leaking. I have no clue what I'm doing so my dealer says for the fluids deal kit bearings labor 545 dollars. Should try and sell it to get my money back or rebuild it.

There had to be more than just the new top end to go from $600 to $1,500??!!

Unless your market is really strong for KDX's, I wouldn't expect that you'd be able to sell is as is for $1,500. So I say rebuild it. It isn't that difficult and you don't need too many special tools. Are you up for doing it yourself?

That 1500 was new top end seat cover and small stuff. I ain't got the time to work on it. My buddy says he wants to do it. He has 9 bikes so he knows what he is doing lol. I just hate bothering him but he voulenteered. So I'm just going to buy the parts and give home some cash.

How is the rebuild going?

Its still going lol. My buddy has the lower end and is rebuilding it for me. I should have it back soon I hope. If I had the time and knowledge I would have already worked on it myself. Its killing me because the weather is starting to turn nice and I'm bikeless.
