Rear Brake Pedal Height ???

This may be a dumb thread or statement ,,, but how do most of you have the
rear brake pedal / lever adjusted ?
I've always found the lever at a poor angle " most bikes " when your trying to ride
sitting down " tight stuff " and still be able to bend your ankle accordingly.
Maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years ???
I've thought about modding the lever or what would be great would be a handlebar brake :)

I even cobbled on " to test " part of an old foot peg to extend the pedal forward.

I like to run the rear brake height slightly above the foot rest.....

From my road racing days i became very fussy about where the pedal was. From normal riding position (sitting) I should be able to swing my toes left and press. At that angle pressing is restricted by your boots which is a good thing as the rear brake is just a dragging/steadying tool.
For trail riding I can’t have the pedal that low or it would be lower than the bash plate but I do set it as low as I can go. I had to do a bit of trickery with my KX hybrid at the adjuster to the slave cylinder. Now it sits level with the bash plate.
Can post a link to what i did if you want?

Any pictures would be great.
I've been trying slightly below the foot peg height as anything besides standing seems like
your hunting to find the brake lever.
It may sound dumb but has anybody ever tried a larger foot perch on the arm ?
Just dubbing around I didn't think that was too bad but may have a different opinion
after riding with it for a while.

I lowered it to a point where I don't have to lift my foot to brake.
It's about half way down the page.

I like all your build photo's , very nice.
Here's a picture of a red neck VT mod. May take a little getting used to as you have a lot more brake leverage.
It really doesn't seem to be in the way of your foot.
NOTE : And I didn't take the time to do a better job ,,, oh well , surprised my old 110 mig even still works " wo a bottle"

I'll say it before any body else ,,,,, easy way to bend your brake lever all to s_ _t .

Again , I 'm expecting many sarcastic comments ,,,,, no worries
BUT , what I've ridden with it so far , it gives you a much more secure feeling with the rear brake.
First ride as I said earlier , you have to get used to the additional braking leverage but after that
I like it.
I'll probably come up with a tether cable just in case :)

It's just my background I consider the rear brake such a minor brake. I don't even like braided lines on the back as it makes them to sensitive and easily over used. Maybe I'm wrong and should be using the rear brake more trail riding but then it doesn't matter we can all get from A to B.

I hear ya , it's all a personal preference. I guess I've thought more about the rear brake when teaching my son growing up.
It seems to be a natural instinct to just use that front brake lever and as a novice you can get in trouble pretty easy.
I guess that was my main thought of this thread ,,,, That many of us don't use the rear brake enough because it's just not easily accessible when riding.

And that easily assessable is the thing that realy annoys me. Most bikes I ride it's impossible to use the rear brake with any sensitivity. In my mind if you have to lift your foot or arch in any way ithe leaver is in the wrong place so moving the leaver to suit me is a priority for me also.

I'll have to say ,,, the more I ride with the larger brake pedal , the more I like it. :)
What I'm finding is I'm using the rear brake more.
I'm sure something a little smaller would have worked fine too.

I'd really like to be able to activate the rear brake from the handlebars.
Reckluse doesn't seem to make one
