Cant hit powerband

Post by Railinandnailin »

Im so dissapointed right now. I just had a new wiseco prolite top end kit installed, rebuilt the carb, and had the shock rebuilt and my 92 kdx 200 still isnt running right. The bike will not hit powerband, it doesnt have all of its low end pick up either. My mechanic checked the powervalve, the reeds and anything else in the top end and cant find anything wrong with it. I cant figure out what the problem is.

Some sort of intake or exhaust restriction. Did you clean out the pipe? Leave a rag in the air box? Screw up the carb somehow?

What is the compression with the new top end?

I'm not sure. It was around 130 before the rebuild and there's plenty more now so probably. 150-160 psi.

Cant hit powerband

My son bought a used hybrid 220 and all it had was a mid range power. Found out the previous owner had the power valves reversed.

Definitely sounds like a powervalve issue, regardless of what your mechanic says.

Hey everybody thanks for the input. It was some restriction in the muffler. It is now fixed and she rips. :supz:
