93 kdx 250 has oil in the air filter

I just traded for the kdx and but it doesn't idle with out the throttle. I cleaned my carb and air filter and found some oil in my air filter. I checked the master valve and all the reeds and they all seemed fine. The reeds felt like they were kind of tight though. It's still running funny. (Also found out that the o rings on the head pipe are worn out could that be the problem?)

Welcome to the forums.

Are you talking about oil that is not "air filter oil"? Do you know that the air filter is supposed to be oiled? The oil is what catches the dirt particles.

If what you have is premix and not filter oil, then most likely your reeds are not sealing properly. Crankcase pressure is blowing back through the carb.

This was a common occurrence back in the days of piston ported 2T engines. This blowback would keep a wire gauze air filter oiled and washed.

It not air filter oil. I know the head was rebuilt and it looked like someone put new reeds. I don't really know because this is my first dirtbike but the reeds seemed a bit too tight.

if the reeds are new, maybe the blowback on the air filter if from the old reeds and the filter hasn't been cleaned ?

In case it looks odd, newwaysys was a spammer who had copy and pasted info from wherever and added links to spam sites. He/she is no longer with us.
