After market throttles

I just purchased a after market throttle that was supposably universal and guess what, it didn't fit my bike. So the question is, does any body know a after market twist throttle that will fit a 1996. I would like a quick twist throttle, but I will settle with a decent normal throttle.

fitting is just a matter of matching the diameter of the bars to the inner diameter of the throttle.
you won't be happy with anything other than a quick twist.

I still can't seem to find a throttle that is compatable. I orderd this one ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dirt-Pit-Bike-C ... 1439127492 ) and I had to send it back. Any ideas

What didn't fit with that throttle?
All handlebars should be 7/8th at the hand grip area.
I do believe that a KX125 throttle will work, they are "quick turn".
Can you just buy a tube and skip the whole assembly thing?

Can you be more specific as to just what problem you are having trying to install the aftermarket twist grip?

What exactly is wrong or doesn't fit? Maybe some pictures or measured dimension differences would help.

Here is the info of that EBay ad from where you bought the throttle. It specifies the standard handlebar size which should of worked on yours unless you have a fat bar.
Brand New - Aftermarket - CNC Aluminum Throttle Control - ( Silver Color )
Fits 7/8" - Handle Bars
- Fits Kawasaki KDX50, KDX80, KDX175, KDX200, KDX220, KDX250 Model

+1 to what has already been said..."It doesn't fit" isn't much to go on in the absence of any further information or photos. Even if you have a fat bar it will be 7/8" at the control end. Any KX throttle from the same years works just fine, and you can replace just the tube without having to do the whole assembly.

There are a number of things that can make them not work.

The size of the barrel on the end of the cable has to fit and the amount of free cable sticking out of the casing has to be right, whithin reason.

I know the throttle assembly off of a '98 KX125 will work if you file just a little off the barrel. It is a smoother operating assembly and only 1/4 turn.
