Just got the bike apart a bit to clean my Kips. Are the stock reeds plastic? Mine look to be plastic.

I think most of them look plastic, a kinda pale yellow (used to be white)
I think most aftermarket reeds are 2 stage and consist of one large reed with holes in it and smaller reeds to cover those holes

any chance you could snap a picture of them ?

either way though, they are a wear item that need to be replaced periodically and if the prices in oz are close to those in the states a new set of reeds shouldn't break the bank

From looking at pics they are stock but in good condition and still have the metal stops on them. I cant get pics on here for some reason. But looking at photos of Bosyen ones I can see the difference. So should I go for normal Bosyen ones or the carbon ones?

By the way, New Zealand is not in Australia.

Just buy the "regular" Boyseen reeds, carbon doesn't matter...on a KDX.
