That RM tank looks like it might be a little challenging.

I've seen some other rm hybrids, the tank on the rm fits around the frame (no perimeter frame) like the kdx. Finding a larger tank might prove challenging, it holds 2 gallons. I was suprised how light the chassis is. It doesn't look like much will need to be removed from the swingarm to get the cases in there. I will be selling some excess parts after I evaluate everything. My other kdx needs a kickstand but I am considering mounting the style like the ktm's use. i know the kickstands are in demand. I think these rm's handled pretty good. I'll take pictures.

your rm tank looks very similar to my 89 kx125 tank. the lower piece of the tank, left side where it hangs down there could potentially be in the way of the throttle cable/top of the carb. I didn't build mine, but someone heated what looks like a bat or pipe in order to soften the tank plastic and press it in. looks good really considering ones options, and it clears the carb nicely.
My kx hybrid only hold 1.9 gallon. for me, that blows cause I like to ride for 6 hours at a time. now I get to ride maybe 2 hours to be safe. not having a reserve sucks, but it doesn't change the fact I only get ~40 miles before I start worrying.

I'm sure there will be some challenges. I live along ways from any major city, so I was always missing out on the craigslist bargains, this rm popped up only 10 miles from me, out in the middle of nowhere , so I took it as a sign, also I had seen a couple of rm builds on here so new it could work. I had a late 90's yz 125 but it looked like there was no way the swingarm would work. My wife has a lot of stuff piled up for me to do so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the encouragement.

I just thought what about the suzuki rmx 250 tank, they were made in the 90's and held around 3 gallons. it's a thought.
