Having a title is a definite plus.

If the mechanicals are the same, the 220, all day long.

What's more important to you, stump pulling low end torque, or snappy upper RPM performance? Excepting the title, which may or may not be a big deal in your state, the ad for the 200 is much more educated. Seems the 220 owner may not be sure what he has or hasn't got in that bike.

The 200 says FMF exhaust, but I am seeing stock.

The pipe was too much for the riding he did, so he put the stock back on. The Fmf is sold with the bike. My vote is the 200. More mods, looks better, seems better taken care of, and cheaper

With the bike owner seeming knowledgeable, it makes me lean toward the 200. I would check out both, however, as you aren't buying a sales pitch, but a mechanical object, which has a certain condition.

he is telling you that the only reason he is letting go of it is to buy a newer version of the exact same bike
then he goes on to say the bike didn't change from 96 to 06

so why is he really selling it ?

and if he put on new forks why aren't they USD style ?

they both have title in hand.

I thought both of those things. If he really is getting a new kdx, there must be something wrong with this one? Or he thinks the klx is the newer version of the bike? As for replacing the fork, that could also say lack of education, but he could just have liked the original forks. If he had liked them, why replace them, the bike would have to have been abused by him or the previous owner. I think I have some more questions for him....

The 220 with a title, doesn't mention title in the 200, but in WA you don't want to buy one without, it's a pain in the ass getting it registered for ORV. Plus the BS line about upgrading to a newer version of the same bike when he claims that it is immaculately maintained. The 220 says new piston, if non Oem that eliminates the biggest worry with that bike. Bit longer of a drive depending on where you live. We always say condition trumps age, but when the conditions are very similar newer doesn't hurt. For me it would come down to which seller is willing to barter more.

The 200 guy is willing to drive and meet with the bike, so both are around the same distance away from me. You never know how willing they are to barter until you are there and in person. If you barter before you come, then when you are there pointing out problems your bartering means nothing because they already know what you can pay

I asked him and he said his neighbor has a 2006 with tons of aftermarket goodies to sell to him. The forks and exhaust came from the left over parts from the neighbors bike. He also won't be able to drive my way (almost 5 hours round trip) unless I buy it at asking price, sight unseen. That won't be happening so the 220 it is

How about this one. With the price I could afford piston, pipe, and any bearings that need replacing

It's owned by a kid, sounds like not much maintenance done. Willing to come down a little on price

I see a tweaked rear fender and tail pipe....sub-frame problems maybe?
I live up closish to Seattle, I could take a poke at the 200.
