Metric?

Hey everbody,

So, I changed the motor oil today and to be honestr I am pretty pleased with my non mechanical self. The torque wrench I have lowest setting is 20 ft lbs so, I carefully torqued the bolt down until a click and we are good to go for tomorrow. didn't have time to drain the gas so, the boy will just have to run it dry tomorrow.

Silly question time. I am in Canada but, the bike is a USA bike. Are the USA bikes metric? A bit of a mix so far. Only with the bolts that hold on the side panels. The bolt for the oil drain was metric. I just assumed that a bike that is supposed to be a USA bike would not be metric.

A gallon of MOTUL 710 is on order from the dealer. Not too crazy a price.

I will report back on tomporrows ride as it is the first ride for us with the new to us KDX. I might have to arm wrestle the bike from my son for a bit as it too nice a bike for a soon to be 15 year old.

Thanks for the continued help everybody.

Pat

The ONLY SAE items on the bike are the spark plug (13/16") and the weird threading on the Schraeder valves.

ANY other SAE bolts, nuts, etc. are from a former owner who couldn't be bothered with proper maintenance.
