Any linked pic in a thread is fine and does not take up server space. Bandwidth is not an issue, it's server space. So, just the Gallery. I think there is 21 meg of space left! Once that's taken up...she crashes!

Of couse all this comes after I just uploaded the $500 bike pics! 
But they are the size I wish all of you would use. Fairly small but still good detail.

I'm looking at a pic from Inda's gallery...it's 1280x960
But....there was an earlier request to limit pic sizes to 640/480...which is why I went to the trouble and time to download some resizing software, resize all of my pics to 640x480. And they were resized from a size considerably LESS than 1280x960.
...never mind. The $500 bike pics are 640x480.
All the above left in place to make the point...my pics are or have been made to fit the 640x480 req...I have removed most pics not kdx or bike riding related.
So it has been written, so it has been done.

It's not the physical size of the image... it's the data size. Guys.. don't worry too much about it. All I was doing was asking for some help in bringing the sizes down. The reason I say 640x480 is that for non-technical users this is better chance to get the file size down.
If a 640x480 is over a half meg... it needs optimized. I have much larger pics that are smaller in data size.

I'm not worried about it...but will gladly comply with ...well...whatever.
I see what I think are some of my pics listed...but don't see the offending sizes noted anywhere in noted albums.
I'll be more'n happy to edit/change/delete whatever is too big..but won't spend the afternoon looking for them...and wondering what I'm missing.
I think they're all handled. If not...point me in the right direction and I'll be happy to change whatever needs be changed. 640x480 @ .5MB is huge! My pics of a like 'size' are around 60k.
JPEGs are in fact compressed...well, unless they aren't compressed! NO reason any 6x4 should be even close to half a meg!
Point: I don't see any 'restrictions' being put in place...just a request for some..well...common sense.

Thanks Inda. I have no imaging software. At least I don't think I'm bright enough to recognize it. Your links will resolve that but I still may not be bright enough to use it. Feel free to edit, resize, delete, toss or ban any photo in my albums that you feel don't serve much purpose. They are in there for the masses to gain knowedge from, and not for my benefit anyway.

Yes, the filesize gets smaller when you make the image smaller..but that doesn't necessarily address the point of physical size vs: data size.
Indeed, some MS Office installations remove the .jpg extension save option from Paint...so some people may not even have that option any more.

Well dang. skipro3, sounds like you better go get a full retail version of Adobe PhotoShop. Nothing less will do. 
The main point was to increase the amount of space left on some server, somewhere, to stem the tide of having to buy more space. For now, the problem is solved.
