220 or 250 for a beginner?

Hey guys. So I've been scanning craigslist for KDX200 lately and have found a lot of 250s and 220s. There seems to be a great selection of 200s, but would it be bad for me (a beginner) to get a 220 or 250? I know the 250 is pretty powerful and would most likely be bad for me, but how about the 220? Any opinions would be welcomed. Thanks!

I would pick a 200 or 220 over a 250 if only for parts availability
both are very good beginner bikes the 220 maybe even more so then the 200 due to the low end grunt

Thanks dude. That makes sense, the 250 and its parts seem a little on the rarer side.
By the way, what do you mean by "low end grunt"? I'm positive my question sounds stupid, but bear with me please.

the 220 has more power down low (as in, at lower RPM) making it almost tractor like in the way it pulls and making it a little harder to stall then the 200

Good low speed performance. Think tractor as opposed to a Formula 1 racing car.
Also, please be aware that stock 220 pistons have a reputation for breaking up without warning. If you get a 220, be sure to check it for a stock piston, and if so fitted, you should change it out for a forged Wiseco or equivalent.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I'll be setting my sights on a 220 instead of a 200. Thanks for the help!
Pumpguy: thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind.

As a beginner, stick with the 200 or 220R (220). The 250 has a good bit more power, besides being a but heavier, parts availability, etc.

Awesome, thanks. I kinda figured the 250 was out of my league.
Thanks!
