I am having 1 tuff time with this clutch on this KDX 220R ! Im running valvaline 10/30 for wet clutches and have everything adjusted in spec , I cant tell if i just need to change the oil or if the clutch is slipping when it gets hot ! Advice please ! all the gears seem to be ok 1st thru 6th but it hesitates alittle in all gears could this just be poor oil viscosity even thou the manual calls for 10w30 /10w40 ?

Hesitates how? when you crack the throttle, while at constant throttle, under load? How old are the clutch plates/springs? If everything is adjusted in spec and not worn out very unlikely you are having clutch slippage. Hesitation in throttle response is more likely jetting issues.

Try running ATF type F. I heard that it helps to clean up the gear box and clutch and get rid of slipping. Ran it last summer and liked it a lot, I'll probably go back to it this season.

Transfluid i didnt even thank of that ! good idea , and yes its the same clutch that has always been in it . The same plates but new springs , it is under load but if i dont get on it hard its fine up to 3rd gear but if I really get on it switching tru gears I can tell it wants to hesitate before it will really dig in.

Clutch slip would be rpm climbing faster/higher than tire speed. Basically, when a clutch is first starting to go out it feels like you are having trouble hooking up the rear tire. An easy test is to get in the meat of the power in 3rd, then try and drag the bike down with the rear brake while hard on the throttle. If the clutch is slipping you'll know it quick, as the bike will slow while rpms still scream.

To me a hesitation is something close to a bog, and engine/jetting related.
