I have just done a dc conversion using a trail tech reg/rec, battery, and currently have a 85w lighting stator, works great, just waiting for the new switch gear to arrive.

with the new stator plate I think I may end up using the 85w stator, and a stock 40-45w, to give me around 130w, as my reg/rec is rated to 150w, I don't really want to exceed that in case I damage it.

Is the flywheel the same as used on the more common 1 lighting coil stator?

Would you know the Kawasaki part numbers for this stator assembly and flywheel?

they have different part numbers.
this setup is of an early (1990) 200sr, they are the only model with the twin lighting stators, the 220sr uses a multi coil stator with separate pickup, so has different crank cases to accommodate this.

I will be trying to fit this to my 2001 220r.

what I do know is the standard single stator plate is the same part number from 89-2006, the flywheels have slightly different part numbers, this twin stator setup uses the same three bolt positions (so should bolt in) but the ignition coil will be in a different position compared to the single stator setup, so the chances are I will have to use the 200sr flywheel also (if it fits my newer 220 crank!)
if for any reason I don't think it will work with my bike I will just sell it on to someone with an earlier bike.

this is the only info I can find on the sr stator/flywheel etc, I would be surprised if they still made them, and at the cost new you could purchase another bike!

well the stator turned up, but there is an issue, which couldn't be seen in the sellers photos!

the ignition coil has been damaged, mounting screw is bent, and after doing a continuity test the windings are broken, so the ignition coil is junk!

for what I paid for it I am not prepared to start spending more money fixing it, so have requested to return it for a full refund.

Seems like a hundred years ago I had a mid 70's KDX 175 with an 'open' ignition coil. I bought some motor winding wire from a local motor rewind shop and carefully rewound the coil. I lost count of the number of turns but just wrapped it until the space was used up--- The end result was a really hot spark---I guess I must have had more turns or maybe more turns of a slightly smaller size wire. What I am saying is that it really isn't a lot of trouble or expense to rewind that ignition coil yourself if everything else about the stator is to your liking?
If the later is true---go for it!

it is bent also though,
BUT, had a chat with the seller, who was very apologetic, and didn't realise it was damaged, he originally got sold it as a replacement for an 87 200! needless to say it never fitted his bike!

he has kindly agreed to refund me the amount to get a new ignition coil, so all good there.

another plus point I am pointing him in the direction of this forum, and I think I have managed to track down the correct stator/flywheel that he needs for his bike
