Quick question. Do I need to follow the procedure for measuring quench using the solder? I'm about to package up my head from my 220 to send off.

I have not sent a head off but I believe you do. Look on RB's website for the procedure, he explains exactly what you need to do with the solder.

I don't think Ron needs it with the standard KDX 200/220 mod. At least, I did not do mine and had no trouble. If you are wanting compression raised up for race fuel, or anything outside of the standard mod, then you will most likely need to.

Awesome. I'm too lazy today to run to the store for the solder. Any other bike head you see on his site say to check squish. The KDX doesn't. I also found another post a few minutes ago that said you don't have to on the KDX.
Thanks for the replies!!

I just got my 220 head back from RB and requested a non-standard job " high compression " and Ron
told me that I did NOT have to measure the squish. He did a great job !!
