hi all wondered if anyone could help ive put a kdx 250 engine in my cagiva mito only thing stoping me putting her on the road is the clutch basket is knackered and i cant find 1 anywhere didnt know if anyone knew anyway around this i heard the 87 kx 250 basket fits but there hard to find anyway any help or advice would be great many thanks

There's a outer basket on eBay. Pro x still makes the inner, its the same inner as the 500.

its the inner mate trouble is i bought a kx 500 basket but it didnt fit in the crankcase was to big i was told they where the same and the partnumber said they where the same as well

I did not have any trouble with mine. I replaced mine last year with the pro x one.. Maybe the u.s one is different.

I just took some measurements from my old one. At the outer part of the basket its 137.74. Where the discs go its 112.43. Shaft its 19.90. Maybe that will help.

I purchased a pro x inner clutch hub part # 18.4408 88-04 kx500. That fit my 93 kdx 250 u.s.

sorry my bad when u said inner i misunderstod its the outer basket which has the teeth for the kickstart sorry me being stupid

thanks but what does it mean by d1-4 on kdx 250 also i noticed that theres a notch on top of the all the teeth wheres mine is flush?thanks for replys

ive bought it now so i can only hope it works now lol

D = the series of KDX250
1 = the first year of the D series KDX250

So, D1 would mean a '91, D4 means a '94. However, they are all the same mechanically in the US spec D series KDX250.

And of course, the D5 1995 model in Europe.

united kingdom i know for sure its not the sr model engine as it completly diffrent to my engine mines has the large carb its premix only has bigger exhaust flange than sr and the exhausts held on with springs instead of bolts also my engine has a slightly diffrent shape above kickstart to the sr model aka the crank case i wasnt sure if its a us spec model u guys might no what engine it is if u type in cagiva mito kdx 250 on youtube it also has i believe a kx 250 barrel for apparently better porting i bought the lump like this i think its a 38mm carb
