Hi all picked up a 1992 kdx250SR the harness has been modified no lights, blinkers ect...
I've been over the wiring and all seems good and right. Rode it yesterday for about 10 min then it just stoped checked over it and found NO SPARK, parked it up over night had a look today and it's got spark now, looks a bit weak but runs again was wondering maybe it's the cdi unit?
Borrowed a new coil and same weak spark but runs??? Is there a way to test the CDI unit?
Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Unfortunately, I know of no way to test the factory CDI without the special Kawasaki tester. However, a few things that you should check that might help. First, replace the spark plug. They are cheap and easy enough to do. Check the resistance on your plug wire. Remember resistance goes up as things get hotter hence possible run while cold/stop when hot. Lastly, undo your ground connections for the coil, clean both contacts, and reattach. Hope that helps.
